Q: How many students at Lakewood Elementary?
A: Approximately 650 (Kindergarten through 5th grade)

Q: What is the average class size?
A: The ratio is 18:1.  Ratios are set by the State and class sizes vary each year.

Q: Can I get a tour of the school?
A: School tours are the first Tuesday of every month. Please call the school and let them know you are coming. Meet in the lobby of the school at 9:30 AM. Tours usually last about one hour.

Q: What is the dress code?
A: Students must wear collared solid white or navy tops (no embroidery, stripes or patterns), solid khaki, navy blue, or black bottoms (no stripes, patterns or details), and solid khaki, white, navy blue, or black outerwear. The bottoms can be pants, capris, shorts or skirts. All must be at least knee length.

Q: What is the curriculum?
A: The curriculum includes reading, language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, fine arts (visual and vocal), physical education, and technology.

Q: What is the instructional format?
A: This varies throughout the day and is dependent on the lesson taught, mastery of concepts, and individual students needs.

Q: Is there an after school care program?
A: There are 2 programs.  The YMCA, which is run by the Y but located on campus and the Lakewood After School Program which is staffed with teachers.
