Message from Principal Thompson

Stallion Families,

As we move into our Thanksgiving break, I want to thank you for all of your support, commitment and partnership. It has been a true privilege to work in a community that moves mountains to ensure all students are successful.

After attending last week’s auction, I want to thank our parents for your generous donations. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity and unwavering support to the Lakewood community as we continue the great work of our mission and vision- building a community of leaders, valued individuals and problem-solvers who continue to advocate for all.

Have a wonderful, safe and healthy weekend,

Stallion Strong,

Principal Thompson

Join the Lakewood community for a very special evening at the Grand Holiday Ice Show on Sunday, December 12th at 7PM!

Celebrate the holidays at The Galleria Dallas’ iconic ice skating show, featuring Olympic Skater Marai Nagasu and her ice-skating friends. Plus, a special appearance by Santa as they light the country’s tallest indoor Christmas tree.

The Galleria Dallas will have festive family pods set up around each level of the ice-skating rink for the ultimate viewing experience. Each private pod is $150 and holds up to six people. Spots are limited and only available to invited guests (the mall will be closed to the public). Purchase your tickets by following this link:

https://www.lecpta.org/holiday-ice-show

In addition to your own private pod to view the Grand Holiday Ice Show, SnowDay and Santaland will stay open late and many other activities will be available for the whole family!

Two words...THANK YOU!

THANK YOU to each and every guest, sponsor, LECPTA member, volunteer, donor and bidder that helped make the LECPTA Auction Party and Home Tour a success.

This epic weekend wouldn’t have been possible without YOU! We can’t wait to share grand totals in the coming weeks! Our Woodrow Wilson feeder pattern schools benefit greatly from this generous community.

This year the Sign-Up Parties sold out in record time.  If you missed your chance, contact Barb McCoy at barbarajmccoy@gmail.com to join a Sign-Up Party waitlist!

And Save the Date for next years Home Festival weekend! November 11-13, 2022!

We are so THANKFUL for our wonderful teachers and staff! For those of you who signed up to provide a yummy pie for their Thanksgiving Break, it's time to drop them off!

This year, the pies need to be store-bought please.

2 options for drop off pies:

  1. Thursday afternoon (November 18, 2021) after 2:00pm on the porch of 6850 Avalon. There will be a cooler to put them in.
  2. Before School Friday, November 19, 2021. 7:30-7:45 am

Volunteers will be collecting from the carpool line or you may drop them off at the table at the front of the school.

Thank you for all that you do for our deserving teachers and staff!

Please reach out to Skylar Champion with any questions: 214-695-8701.

While this "Welcome to Woodrow" event has been primarily geared towards rising 9th graders, the school understands many families are exploring high school options much earlier. The format is designed to be like a college-visit with tours, performances, and coaches tables.  Please come with your kids if you're interested in seeing the school!
