NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Lakewood Elementary PTA congratulates our incredible school’s administration and teaching staff on this achievement! U.S. News & World Report conducted an analysis of over 100,000 schools at the K-8 level and Lakewood Elementary was ranked the #9 elementary school in Texas! U.S. News calculated the K-8 rankings based on students’ proficiency on mathematics and reading/language arts state assessments.

This increase in our ranking really represents all the incredibly hard work of the students, our teachers who go above and beyond for their Stallions, and our parents who give an incredible amount of time, effort, and generous donations to support our school!

Please support the Lakewood Holiday Angel Tree by signing up here for one of seventeen students available at Lakewood. You may also sign up to drop off a $25 gift card that will go to Angel Tree programs at neighboring DISD schools. 

If you select a Lakewood student, you will receive an email with your child's wishes as well as drop off instructions within 1-2 days. All gifts and gift cards are due by Friday, December 15th.

The 4th annual 🎄🎁 FaLaLa Lakewood toy drive parade 🎁🎄benefiting Dallas Children's Advocacy Center is this Saturday, Dec 2!

FaLaLa is organized by Lakewood parent volunteers, and Lakewood families have generously contributed more than $140,000 worth of toys and gifts since 2020. We have designated the back side of Lakewood Elementary as ❄️Wendover Wonderland❄️, sponsored by The Little Things, from 4:30-5pm! Please park only on the side of Wendover opposite from the playground or in the teacher’s parking lot so that we can leave the curb open for Santa! 🛷🎅🏽

Visit DCAC.org/Lakewood and follow @falalalakewood for the full parade route, needed gifts, and more information! Reminder: all FaLaLa t-shirts are approved for SPIRIT WEAR tomorrow!

The Woodrow Wilson Dance Company will be performing The Nutcracker Short ‘N Suite next weekend - December 8 and 9.

There are traditional ballet pieces along with Folklorico, Jazz, Contemporary and Hip Hop, some of which have been choreographed by the students.

There are shows at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday evenings, as well as a matinee at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Before the matinee, there is a Land of Sweets Breakfast which tickets can be purchased for separately.

Choose Dallas ISD Application Timeline

The Choose Dallas ISD application portal timeline for the 2024-2025 school year is from November 1, 2023, and will close at midnight on January 31, 2024. During this time, any family interested in applying for a neighborhood choice program, Magnet, Transformation, ECHS, or P-TECH program should submit an application in our Choose Dallas ISD SchoolMint portal.  This includes our Dual Language Program at Lakewood.
