There will be NO after school activities on Friday, 22nd (FOL, YMCA, Big Thought) due to the early release. If your child rides the bus, please note the adjusted times below. 

It is very important you submit excuse notes and doctor’s notes for the entire first semester to the attendance office as soon as possible. This includes notes needed for times students have been released early or have arrived late. The front office will be accepting these notes until December 18^th for any past absences from the start of school August 14^th to present. However, after that deadline we will not be able to enter any other notes due to our 2^nd semester attendance policy. If you would like to contribute to the holiday gift fund for our wonderful SUPPORT STAFF and GT/SPECIALS TEACHERS at Lakewood Elementary, we are partnering with FOL to collect here: https://www.foldallas.org/page-18120

All contributions will be split amongst 51 staff members including our Custodial Staff, Cafeteria Staff, Crossing Guards, Front Office Staff, TAs, SPED, Dyslexia, Counselors, Nursing Staff, GT Teachers and Specials Teachers.  

Please contribute by end of day Monday, December 18^th. Make sure to select the "Lakewood 2023 Holiday Fund" drop down and include your family's name in the comments for card display. Please ask your students to check the lost and found during recess or down time. Parents are welcome to check in at office and look as well (located by cafeteria). We will be donating most items at the end of next week.  Email lostandfound@lakewoodelementary.net with questions or to submit a lost item report. Need child's full name, teacher, and home room code with a detailed description of what you are missing (size and brand). Thanks! 

Huge thank you to Mr. Chacon and Mr. Pineda for installing the new security cameras! 

Have you noticed the marquee is turned off and wondered what is going on? Our digital sign sustained electrical damage in early November, and our vendor had to order special parts to repair it. The team is working diligently with them to get this done. The marquee will be back on as soon as the parts arrive and can be installed.
