Carline Tips & Reminders

The temps and rain caused carline to run more slowly this past week. Here are some friendly tips and reminders for how to get your Stallions in and out of school quickly and safely: 

Roller Skating is HERE!

Who: 2nd-5th grade

What: Roller Skating  

Where: Lakewood gym (PE days)

When: January 29 - February 16 

What do I need to roller skate? 

  • Please have your child bring their own helmet on the days he/she comes to PE. If they do not have a helmet, one will be provided for them, however, it will be shared helmet. 
  • Students must have on socks to roller skate. 
  • Students will be provided wrist guards, but they may bring their own. 
  • Must have a permission form turned in to skate.

On Monday, April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will cross North America, passing over Mexico, the United States, and Canada; and Lakewood plans to celebrate in a BIG way!  All students in grades K-5 are invited to design a one-of-a-kind shirt for this special occasion. The winning shirt will be a limited time pre-order special design available in Lakewood’s Spirit Store and it will be printed on posters marking the event for all to see! General PTA Meeting: Feb 8 @ 6:15pm

Please plan to join in the auditorium on the rescheduled date of February 8th (6:15pm) for a quick and important PTA meeting in between the Kindergarten performances. If you missed the last meeting, meeting notes for this meeting (and all prior this year) can be found here

Updated Dates for 3rd Grade PETER and the WOLF

Due to some unexpected challenges resulting from our recent weather, we have made some adjustments to our upcoming performance by the 3rd Grade of PETER and the WOLF:

Tuesday, February 27th

   -5:00PM - 3B and 3C and selected students from 3A

   -6:30PM - 3D and 3E and selected students from 3A

Thursday, February 29th

   -5:00PM - 3H and 3J and selected students from 3A

   -6:30PM - 3F and 3G and selected students from 3A

More information has and will come directly from your teacher. 

Please note the 1st- 3rd grade students participating may come and go as well with their families; they do not need to be there early or right at 5:30, as their projects will already be displayed.

Calling all future Stallions! This *IS* their first rodeo. Come mosey on over to KINDER ROUND-UP 2024! Save the date for ️️️March 27️️️ for parents and their little buckaroos to tour the school, meet other future kinders, and receive tons of helpful tips and information to start your Stallion journey. 2nd grade: February is your month to keep our Lakewood staff fueled and energized throughout the day! While completely optional, please consider signing up to send in snacks and/or drinks on the link below! Let’s show our support and school spirit as CLASS of 2034!

FOL’s Camp Lakewood Spring 2024 takes us out to the astonishing cool Grady Spruce campground! We take over the camp for a weekend and enjoy the cabins that rest along the shores of Possum Kingdom Lake. Take a short boat ride over to Hells Gate and hike to the top or enjoy a slow horseback ride or even a zoom down a zip line! It’s going to be an amazing weekend.
