Kindergarten: April is your month to keep our Lakewood staff fueled and energized throughout the day! While completely optional, please consider signing up to send in snacks and/or drinks on the link below! Let’s show our support and school spirit as CLASS of 2036!

Calling all current 4th graders! Register here by April 1 for this June 2025 trip.

We have met our numbers for the private trip and we only have 5 guaranteed spots remaining on our bus. Those spots are first come, first serve and once they are filled, a waitlist will be created to determine if we have enough for a second bus. The magic number for a second bus is an additional 20 travelers. Let's go to D.C., 4th grade!

REGISTRATION IS OPEN NOW THROUGH APRIL 7th for this year's White Rock Spring Games!! Only 32 teams per grade and gender will be admitted to the games. Once each grade/gender category is filled, registration for that group will be closed, so register TODAY!

When: Sunday, May 5th

- Kinder to 2nd Graders: 12:30-3:00 PM

- 3rd to 5th Graders: 4:00-6:30 PM

Where: Rofino Stadium at Bishop Lynch High School

We have done an AMAZING job with our Kids Heart Challenge event, and we are in the LAST STRETCH until we wrap up tomorrow and send our lifesaving funds into the American Heart Association!!

Every dollar raised helps us fund lifesaving research, teaches our students about caring for others AND helps our school earn necessary PE equipment and funds for our school. As of today, we've raised an incredible $57,930 to help others, and we are so proud and appreciative of everything you’ve done so far! Thank you!

Remember- Students who raise $250 will get a chance to dunk coaches in a dunk tank for field day! Plus, any student who raises $500 will get a special "Extraordinary Kid" yard sign displayed on campus that they can keep after Kids Heart Challenge is over!

STAAR Testing Information

Due to a requirement for a Secure Testing Environment, please be aware that we will not be allowed to have outside of DISD volunteers or visitors on our campus on these days.

Please be sure that your students get plenty of rest and eat breakfast during these testing weeks. Also make sure that you are not scheduling any appointments on these days if your student is a 3rd, 4^th or 5^th grader. Your support and cooperation is greatly appreciated!

The schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, April 10

Reading, Language Arts STAAR, grades 3-5

Wednesday, April 17

Science STAAR, grade 5

Wednesday, April 24

Math STAAR, grades 3-5

If a student is absent on a day that a STAAR test is administered for their grade, make-up tests will be given upon the student's return, preferably the Thursday or Friday of the same test week.

SBDM at Lakewood Elementary

Calling all parents interested in joining the SBDM committee for the 2024-2025 school year! This committee serves as an advisory council to the principal. It is comprised of the campus principal, teachers, school staff, and parents. Committee selections will take place at our April meeting. If you’d like to learn more, please email sbdm@lakewoodelementary.net or read more here. The next SBDM meeting is April 11 at 7pm in the library, and anyone may attend.

26th Annual Long Run on April 4th
