Dear Lakewood Families,

As we head into another full week at Lakewood, I want to take a moment to highlight two incredible members of our campus leadership team in honor of National Assistant Principal Week—Ms. Jade Flaherty and Ms. Legna Bousquet.

Both Ms. Flaherty and Ms. Bousquet play a vital role in creating the supportive, structured, and welcoming environment that makes Lakewood such a special place for our students and staff. Whether it’s supporting teachers with instructional planning, helping students navigate challenges, partnering with families, organizing campus logistics, or simply greeting students with warmth each morning—they wear many hats and handle each one with grace, care, and a deep commitment to our school community.

Ms. Flaherty brings a calm, steady presence to everything she does. Her positive spirit, ability to connect with students and families, and commitment to doing what's best for kids make her an invaluable part of our team.

Ms. Bousquet brings energy, clarity, and thoughtful leadership into every space she enters. Her ability to balance details with big-picture thinking keeps our systems running smoothly while advocating for all students with care and purpose.

Their work may often be behind the scenes, but the impact they have on the day-to-day life at Lakewood is seen and felt by so many. Please join me in thanking Ms. Flaherty and Ms. Bousquet this week for their leadership, hard work, and all they do to support the Lakewood the community we love.

Thank you for your continued support.

Stallion Strong,

Principal Thompson

It’s time to get your “A” game together!  Come out on April 28 for the 7th Annual Friends of Lakewood (FOL) Mark Parks Tournament.  We are changing the format some this year.  It’s going to be a 3-man scramble with 2 teams playing together on each hole.

Get your teams and sign up ASAP as there will be limited spots available. Entry fee includes a round of golf, 2 mulligans per player, tourney golf shirt, cart, bucket of practice balls, lunch, and beer ticket.  After the tournament we will award prizes and have some fellowship and fun.

All the proceeds from this tournament go to the Mark Parks Scholarship Fund.  This scholarship benefits multiple Woodrow seniors each year who have attended both Lakewood Elementary and Woodrow Wilson High School.  This is a great cause and we are proud to continue honoring our late and great friend Mark in this fashion.

There are sponsorships available, including the Title Sponsor, Par 3, and Hole sponsorships.  Please be a sponsor!  Thank you!
