Welcome back and Happy New Year, Lakewood families!

As we begin 2026, I want to celebrate the strong start our students and staff have had coming back from the break. Our campus has been full of energy and focus as we continue nurturing the Seeds of Change we have planted together this year. Our students returned ready to learn and quickly reconnected to routines and expectations, showing impressive growth, maturity, and independence. It has been wonderful to see how smoothly they transitioned back and how proud they are of their learning.

Our teachers have been working intentionally behind the scenes, analyzing iReady, ACP, and mastery check data to better understand student progress. Using this information, they are tailoring instruction and creating differentiated plans to support continued growth for every learner. We were also grateful for our teacher leaders who facilitated professional learning focused on helping students think more independently, strengthening classroom routines, supporting positive behaviors, and providing meaningful feedback. This work directly supports the learning environment we aim to grow through our Seeds of Change focus.

Thank you to our incredible families and volunteers for your continued partnership and support at home and on campus. Together, we are helping our Seeds of Change take root and flourish.

We look forward to a great year ahead.

Stallion Strong!

Principal Thompson

LUNCH BUNCH VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

We would love to have 1 additional volunteer join us for the 1st Lunch Bunch shift each day to help keep the cafeteria clean and get the classes in and out within their allotted time period.  Unfortunately, Voly does not allow us to make changes to our existing signup. Please click below to access the NEW VOLY SIGNUP for this 1 additional volunteer.  The original Voly Lunch Bunch Sign Up is still active! Thank you in advance for signing up AND for your patience with Voly.

Send your student to Campus Beautification on January 19 @ 4:00 PM. Just a reminder, this is Martin Luther King Jr. Day so it could be a great opportunity to get out of the house!

Students earn a FREE DRESS PASS to be used on any Monday of their choice.  Hope to see you there!

Registration for the 21-DAY SNACKING CHALLENGE OPENS on 1/20!

21-Day Snacking Challenge” is an innovative, three-week nutrition education initiative backed by participating school districts, educators and parents. During the challenge, elementary school students are invited to change their current after-school snacking habits by consuming more fruits and vegetables. Using the recipe books and our Healthy Snack Finder as a foundation, kids are empowered to create fun, healthy snacks on their own or with minimal supervision.

Data collected at the end of each challenge shows that kids are changing their eating habits, trying new fruits and vegetables, and introducing the program to their extended families.

Registration:  1/20-1/27

Program dates: 1/27-2/16

Final Assessment period: 3/2-3/9
