Lakewood families,
There is so much to celebrate across our campus, and I continue to feel incredibly grateful for the energy, effort, and partnership that make our school community so special.
Our third through fifth grade students recently completed their first round of STAAR simulation testing in Reading and Writing on Wednesday. I am so proud of the focus, perseverance, and effort our students demonstrated throughout the process. These practice opportunities help students build confidence and stamina, and it was clear how seriously they took their work. Our teachers are already reviewing results to celebrate strengths and identify ways to continue supporting growth. We are proud of how our students continue to rise to the challenge.
Our first graders had a wonderful time on their field trip to the zoo. These experiences bring learning to life and create lasting memories for our students. A heartfelt thank you to all of our chaperones and volunteers who gave their time to make this trip safe, smooth, and special for our learners. We truly could not do it without you.
Today, we are excited to celebrate our Multicultural Day. It will be such a joy to see students representing countries from around the world and learning about different cultures, traditions, and histories. Experiences like this broaden perspectives and help our students grow as thoughtful, informed global citizens. A special thank you to Ms. Nguyen for her leadership, vision, and time spent organizing this event. We are also so grateful to our amazing Multicultural Appreciation parent committee, Silvia Borger and Taryn Bright-Haskett, as well as committee members Beth Itkin, Alina Johnson, Jessica Reid and Rebekah Shamsa, for their partnership and dedication in helping bring today to life.
Thank you for your continued support, involvement, and encouragement. We are grateful to share these meaningful experiences together as one Lakewood community.
Stallion Strong,
Principal Thompson
