NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS

October is Rett Syndrome Awareness Month. This month Lakewood Elementary will honor the loving memory of one of our very own Stallions, Virginia Lang. As we remember her during this very special month, Lakewood Elementary is collaborating with a close family friend to install a memorial bench in honor of Virginia. During the month of October, we are encouraging families to donate in Virginia's memory to the Rett Syndrome Research Trust, a non-profit organization that we admire a great deal for its bold approach to advancing research on Rett Syndrome. The RSRT provides so much love and support for children like Virginia and their families.

Donations can be made online at https://reverserett.org/donate/

Please click “In memory of” and write in Virginia’s name.

Or you can make your contribution by mailing a check made out to RSRT to:

(Please write “Virginia Lang” on the memo line)

Hey STALLIONS- we asked, you answered, and EXCEEDED our expectations!! Thank you for making our Stallion Strong fundraising campaign a success for our 2022-2023 school year. With your generosity, we raised over $82k - this money will go towards so many different, important initiatives at our school, positively impacting our amazing students and staff. Thank you to everyone who donated - now let's celebrate those winners!

2nd Grade Performance

Attention, 2nd Grade Parents! The 2nd Grade Performance will be the evening of Thursday, October 20th in two sections based on your child's teacher:

5:30pm - Strifler, Dunn, Ollendike and Lang

6:30pm - Campbell, Johnson, Brooks and Lopez

2A will be performing with the Class with which they attend specials. Mr. Reich and Ms. Prieto will share those details with 2A parents.

More information to come via grade level emails. Please note the General PTA Meeting will be at 6pm, in between the two performances, so plan to stay after or come early to hear what's going on and how to get involved.

The Counseling Department is looking forward to supporting your scholar's social-emotional, academic, and career development growth this year.  Could you please complete this brief survey to help us plan and develop quality programs that best meet the needs of your scholar and family?  Your input is valuable, and your responses are anonymous.
