  • Texas has the second highest rates of human trafficking (1 in 4) in the United States. The new curriculum is an effort to increase awareness and prevent human trafficking. The curriculum was developed by A21, a distinguished non-profit with programs to rescue and rehabilitate victims of human trafficking in 14 countries. https://www.a21.org/
  • The content and language are age-appropriate and serve as building blocks for long-term prevention of human trafficking. The word “trafficking” is not introduced until high school.
  • Teachers can share lesson materials with parents as soon as they are made available. If you previously opted out and would like to change your response, please email your child’s homeroom teacher. For any additional questions, please reach out to Ms. Romines elromines@dallasisd.org.
