Site-Based Decision Making Committee

Calling all parents interested in joining the SBDM committee for the 2023-2024 school year! This committee serves as an advisory council to the principal. It is comprised of the campus principal, teachers, school staff, and parents. Committee selections will take place at our May meeting. If you’d like to learn more, please email sbdm@lakewoodelementary.net or read more here. The next SBDM meeting is April 20th at 6pm in the library, and anyone may attend.

Who: All Lakewood Elementary- zoned families interested in kindergarten for 2023-2024 school year. Sign up here if you are attending! 

Where: Lakewood Elementary School. Check in will begin at 5:45 PM, Program 6pm

What: Parents will receive information on the following:

  • A-Day-in-the-life
  • 2023-2024 School year registration information
  • Gifted & Talented (GT) program
  • PTA membership & volunteer opportunities 
  • Preparing your student for the Kindergarten
  • Tour of school, visit a kindergarten classroom and meet kindergarten teachers
What's your plan for next year?

As we are planning for the 2023-2024 school year, we know our families' plans may be changing based on choice and private school acceptance deadlines. To effectively plan for returning students and class placements/sizes, please complete this quick form by March 31st to indicate whether your child is returning to Lakewood or not. Thank you! 

How would you like to serve on PTA? We'd love to know! Take a look at the board descriptions for more information on the positions available. You can also review the current board list if you would like to reach out to people currently holding certain positions to learn more.

There are more than 175 positions available on the Board, ranging from small commitments to large commitments - there is something for everyone interested! Many opportunities are seasonal, whereas some jobs are consistent year-round. If you are hoping to take on multiple roles, please let us know!
