Dear Stallion Families,
What a wonderful start to the school year! Thank you to everyone who joined us for Parent Information Night. We are so grateful for the time you took to be here, learn alongside our teachers, ask thoughtful questions, and share valuable feedback. Strong partnerships between home and school make such a difference, and we appreciate the way our families continue to show up for our students and staff.
As we settle into our routines, we are also looking forward to cooler weather ahead! Our students are working hard, building relationships, and growing more confident in their classrooms each day. We hope the weeks ahead bring a little less Texas heat and even more opportunities to enjoy time outside!
An Important Note About Attendance
One of the most important ways families can support student success is through consistent, on time attendance. Every school day matters. When students miss school, even occasionally, they miss valuable instruction, classroom routines, conversations, and learning experiences that can be difficult to recreate.
A friendly reminder that instruction begins at 8:00 a.m. each day, and students are considered tardy beginning at 8:05 a.m. We encourage families to aim for arrival with enough time for students to get settled, connect with their classmates and teachers, and be ready to learn when instruction begins. Those few extra minutes can make a big difference in helping students start their day feeling calm, prepared, and successful.
Our goal is for every Stallion to be at school every day they are healthy and able to attend. We understand that illness and unavoidable circumstances happen, and we appreciate families communicating with us when they do. At the same time, we encourage you to schedule appointments and travel outside of the school day whenever possible.
Thank you for helping us build strong habits early in the year and for continuing to partner with us to make Lakewood a place where every child can learn, belong, and thrive.
