Dear Stallion Families,
What an incredible start to the school year! Our halls are once again filled with smiling faces, excited conversations, and the joyful energy that makes Lakewood such a special place. Thank you for helping us launch another wonderful year with positivity, patience, and partnership. Seeing our students reconnect with friends, meet new teachers, and begin this next chapter has been such a gift.
This year is especially meaningful as we celebrate Lakewood Elementary's 75th Anniversary! Throughout the year, we will honor the generations of Stallions who came before us while continuing to build A Legacy of Learning. A Future of Possibilities. We can't wait to celebrate this milestone alongside our students, staff, families, alumni, and community.
Our teachers have been intentionally building classroom communities, establishing expectations, practicing routines, and helping every child feel known, valued, and confident. These first weeks lay the foundation for a successful year of learning.
As we move into Week Two, our campus will continue focusing on three priorities that will guide everything we do this year:
Empower Learning
Students are doing the thinking, talking, questioning, and problem solving. We want every child to become an active learner who understands their goals, reflects on their progress, and grows through meaningful challenges.
Culture with Consistency
Strong learning happens when students feel safe, supported, and know what to expect. We are committed to creating classrooms with clear expectations, consistent routines, and a true sense of belonging for every Stallion.
Develop Leaders
Leadership begins in elementary school. Through Leader in Me, students will continue discovering their strengths, taking ownership of their learning, and making a positive impact in their classrooms and our community.
Together, these priorities will help every child grow academically, socially, and emotionally while preparing them for success both inside and outside the classroom.
