CREATING LAKEWOOD LEADERS, ONE HABIT AT A TIME

 

Lakewood Elementary is proud to be a Leader in Me campus, where we strive to build Lakewood Leaders every day! Throughout the school year, students will learn, practice, and demonstrate the habits that help them become responsible, confident, and caring leaders.

We know that all of our Lakewood students are Super Stallions!

 

We appreciate the dedication our students show each day as they learn, practice, and live the 8 Habits of Leader in Me. From taking responsibility and setting goals to working together, listening to others, and finding their voice, our students are growing into confident and compassionate leaders.

Every nine weeks, two students from each class will be recognized as Super Stallions for demonstrating the spotlighted habits through their choices, actions, and interactions with others.

 

 

 

THE 8 LEADER IN ME HABITS

 

1st 9 Weeks

 

Habit 1: Be Proactive
“You’re in charge!”
Take responsibility for your choices, actions, and attitude.

 

Habit 2: Begin With the End in Mind
“Have a plan!”
Set goals and make choices that help you achieve them.

 

2nd 9 Weeks

 

Habit 3: Put First Things First
“Work first, then play!”
Prioritize what is most important and manage your time wisely.

 

Habit 4: Think Win-Win
“Everyone can win!”
Look for solutions where everyone can succeed.

 

3rd 9 Weeks

 

Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood
“Listen before you talk!”
Listen carefully and try to understand others before sharing your own ideas.

 

Habit 6: Synergize
“Together is better!”
Work together and celebrate differences to create better solutions.

 

4th 9 Weeks

 

Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw
“Take care of yourself!”
Take time to care for your body, mind, heart, and spirit so you can be your best.

 

Habit 8: Find Your Voice
“Find your voice and inspire others to find theirs!”
Discover your unique strengths and talents, use your voice to make a positive difference, and encourage others to do the same.

 

We are proud of every Super Stallion who makes a difference through their choices, actions, and leadership each day.
