School Supplies

 

Lakewood offers school supplies through EduKit as a convenient option for families to order school supplies and have them shipped directly to the school. Our PTA School Supply team works hand-in-hand with Lakewood teachers to create our school supply lists. School supplies are pooled within each homeroom and used throughout the year.

 

If you placed an EduKit order before June 19 it will be delivered to the classroom for the first day of school. If you ordered an EduKit after June 19 for at-home delivery, please bring the EduKit box to Meet the Teacher or the first day of school.

School Uniforms

 

 

  • Uniform Top – White or navy collared polo; short or long-sleeved
  • Uniform Bottom - Navy, black or khaki shorts, skirts, pants or jumper
  • Shoes - Closed-toed, athletic shoes are encouraged
  • Cold Weather - Sweaters, sweatshirts, jackets, athletic tights / leggings, hats, and gloves can be worn in any color; no sweatpants or joggers
  • Monogram - Optional; may not be taller than 2"
  • Optional Plaid - Lakewood Elementary students have the option to wear Plaid #57, a blue, gray and gold plaid available through retailers like Land's End, Amazon, and more.

School uniforms may be purchased from any retailer, provided they meet the guidelines outlined above.

Lands' End is a great resource for shopping our approved plaid items and offers the option to add the official Lakewood Elementary logo to eligible apparel through their monogramming service.
 

 

Clear Backpacks

  

Clear backpacks are required for all DISD students.

 

As an additional option, mesh backpacks will be acceptable, however clear ones are preferred. Students may carry a small, non-clear pouch in their backpack to hold personal items, such as cellphones, money, and hygiene products. To support families, each student will be provided a durable clear backpack at no cost. Parents may also purchase the preferred clear backpack, or the acceptable mesh backpack, for their students.

Special Dress Days

  

  • Spirit Day (Fridays) – Lakewood students may wear uniform bottoms with a t-shirt from any of the below:
    • Lakewood Elementary, J.L. Long, Woodrow Wilson
    • Colleges or Universities
    • Lakewood Early Childhood PTA (LECPTA)
    • Lakewood-specific clubs or activities - LOLA, Best Buddies, Dual Language, etc.
    • Not approved: Professional sports jerseys
  • Special Dress Days - Look to the Lakewood Calendar and eNews throughout the year for optional dress-up days like World Down Syndrome Day, Red Ribbon Week, Read Across America Day, and many more.

  • Kindergarten Students - Lakewood's youngest Stallions will receive a shirt at Meet the Teacher to be worn on the first day of school and field trips throughout the year.
